The challenge for this swap was to make a fabric ATC using a technique I've never tried before. Well, easier said than done. Thinking of a technique that I'd never used to make an ATC was the biggest challenge. After that, actually making the thing was easy.

I'm not 100% happy with how it turned out. The cross-stitch itself is fine, I think, but I don't like how it's attached to the background. Somehow, it managed to be both off-center, and slightly skewed. By the way, the green background is felt, and there's a stiff paper glued to the back for stability.

In the end, I wouldn't say that I've discovered a new favorite technique, and I'm certainly not going to give up all other crafts in pursuit of cross-stitch! But it was fun to try something new, and I see more possibilities for using cross-stitch on future ATCs.

five, six, seven

Zentangle ATCs. I love, love, love drawing Zentangles. The easiest way in the world for me to complete the 100 ATCs challenge would be to just sit drawing Zentangle ATCs until my arm falls off. I might make it to 100 before that happened...

one, two, three, four

The first four. One of them is destined for a Black-and-White swap on swap-bot.com, the others are free agents. The spirals and squares are made from black felt; the fuzzy bits are white tulle.

4 done, 96 to go, and 99 days more.

The Project

One hundred days, one hundred ATCs.

That's it, that's all. I'm starting today, April 24th, and by the time 100 days have passed (making a deadline of August 2nd) I want to have completed 100 ATCs.

No rules, other than the one: finish 100 ATCs! I guess a proper name for this blog would have been "An Average of an ATC a day," because I don't plan on making one per day. I'm allowing myself to work ahead, or fall behind.

That's all.
